WHO WE ARE

Breakaway Relief Foundation is a not-for-profit social services agency operating across the Greater Toronto Area. Established in 2003, the agency’s inception came about during a dire need for improved programming and workshops for underserved families, seniors, and at-risk youth. Through collaborative efforts, we can support the ever-changing needs of many communities with varying socio-economic demographics. To address those needs we offer various support services including but not limited to, food and clothing donations, crisis intervention workshops, employment seeking assistance and counselling. Through advocacy, education and creating equal opportunities, BRF hopes to help create more resilient and invigorated communities.

Services

Senior Care

At BRF we make it a priority to provide assistance to our elderly population in whichever ways they may need. Some of our senior services offered include: Homemaking, grocery pick up and meal preparation, assistance with daily living and personal hygiene and medication reminders. Additionally, we offer relief and respite support for families overnight if required. These services may be provided in a variety of environments such as: an individual’s private home, retirement homes, long term care homes, hospice facility and hospitals.

Youth Programs

For years BRF has remained a pillar in the community by providing a multitude of services, workshops and programs geared towards youth.

Currently, we are offering specialized workshops in the arts as well as opportunities to collaborate and assist with senior programming.

Food and Clothing Donation

Recognizing the different needs of various communities, BRF continues to maintain our effort to accept nonperishable food as well as clothing donations. With these donations, we’re able to assist families and individuals seeking support for these necessities.

The generosity of community members never goes unnoticed and as always, we are thankful for all the contributions we’ve received over the years.

My name is Sharon B, and I have been getting help from Breakaway Relief Foundation since covid-19 which helped me and my family a whole lot.
Today I just have to write a Testimony on how Breakaway helped us out for Christmas this year.
I was home last week very depressed so, I started to pray and sing to God, asking him to send us some help for the holidays. The song I was singing was, why worry when you can pray ask, Jesus and he will lead the way. I has called Breakaway a couple times but, no one answered. About an hour passed, then I heard the phone rang and it was Sharon from Breakaway Foundation calling me back.
I told her that I was seeking help for the Christmas, she said that she would call me back, and she did with great news. She told me that someone would sponsor me with grocery. I was very excited, happy, grateful and very thankful.
Today we went to No Frills and got the food that we needed for the Christmas holidays, and other helpful things too.
God, please continue to Bless Breakaway Foundation, Sharon at Breakaway, Mr. Harvey and his dear son.
God Blessings to you all. I am very grateful for all your help.
I had to put this Testimony out.
I will always put my trusts in the Lord. Amen!
